Executive Officer’s Log, Bennet’s Badgers

Capt Gardner somehow managed to get permission from the Raven Alliance for Bennet’s Badgers to trial for the right to have our status as a mercenary command with ‘known pirate ties’ updated. I do not know the details, but we have been given a time and place to show up and if we win, then we will be able to renew our contract with the militia.

Netherfield Commander’s Log

Today we will trial with Bennet’s Badgers. I anticipate a favorable outcome, but honor will not be served by me underbidding. Also, Snow Raven leadership will not accept the outcome of the trial if Bennet’s Badgers have too quick of a win. I must disable as many of their ‘Mechs as possible during the trial.

Scenario - Trial of Refusal

Star Captain Fitzwilliam Darcy and Capt Gardner have secured the chance for Bennet’s Badgers to have a Trial of Refusal to reverse the classification of Bennet’s Badgers as a mercenary command with ‘known pirate ties’. A successful trial outcome will result in the restoration of the Bennet’s Badgers contract with the Jordan Wais militia for coming years.

Game Setup

Attacker

Star Captain Fitzwilliam Darcy and Star Commander Charles Bingley must participate in this mission. Additional members of Expeditionary Star Alpha may be added as long as the total BV (PV) does not exceed that of Bennet’s Badgers. Lydia Bennet is a bondsman with Expeditionary Star Alpha but may not participate in this scenario. Expeditionary Star Alpha deploys on one side of the map.

Attacker

Jane Bennet and Elizabeth Bennet must participate in this mission. Additional members of Bennet’s Badgers may be included; however, this increases the BV (PV) cap for Expeditionary Star Alpha. Bennet’s Badgers deploy on the opposite side of the map from Expeditionary Star Alpha.

Map

Select 1 grasslands map for every 4 units in the scenario, rounded up. Jordan Wais has thin atmosphere and 1,14 g. Use the rules from BattleTech: Tactical Operations Advanced Rules for these conditions.

Objectives

Bennet’s Badgers want to disable all Expeditionary Star Alpha ‘Mechs to win the trial.

Score Lore Points for the following accomplishments

  • Snow Raven ‘Mech disabled (5 pts each)

  • Bennet’s Badgers ‘Mech disabled (3 pts each)

  • Named character dies (-5 pts each)

Special Rules

Star Captain Fitzwilliam Darcy will strictly adhere to Zellbrigen until a unit is in Forced Withdrawl, and then he will break the duel and initiate another. He will only fight Elizabeth Bennet after all other units have been disabled. Star Captain Fitzwilliam Darcy will concede the trial if only he is the last remaining Snow Raven ‘Mech and his ‘Mech has taken internal or critical damage.
